Tip 7 - Embrace the perfectly imperfect.

Is your best never good enough? Do you put a lot of pressure on yourself?

A lot of us are striving for perfection and putting the bar so high that it can drain the joy out of life and considerably increase our stress levels.

So, is it time to say, ‘good enough is good enough’? – my motto for 2020 by the way as I am a ‘recovering perfectionist’.

This week’s “Rise and Grow in Uncertain Times’ post helps us give ourselves a break.

Tip 7 – Embrace the perfectly imperfect

First things first, try and identify where the perfectionism is coming from.

If the problem is down to others pressuring you to be perfect, it might be a sign that you need to reaffirm your boundaries and learn to be more assertive.

If the perfectionism is coming from within, here are few tips:

1. Save your high standards for the things that matter to you most
2. Be process smart (the majority of the pay-out for your efforts will be realised at the early stages of processes)
3. Reward yourself for being imperfect
4. Finally, allow yourself to be human and fallible
