Conquer your week: a guide to sustainable weekly planning.
Let's face it, Sunday night scaries are a real thing. That looming to-do list can feel like a mountain ready to avalanche your Monday morning. But there's a powerful tool to combat the overwhelm and set yourself up for a successful week. Think of it like prepping for a week-long adventure. You wouldn't just wing it, would you? You'd plan your route, pack essentials, and maybe schedule some pitstops for some scenic …
From frantic to festive: ditch the holiday overwhelm.
While twinkling lights and cheerful carols bring a wave of anticipation and excitement, the festive season is often accompanied by a surge of stress. Despite the challenges, there are practical strategies …
Thinking of hiring a coach?
Since it’s hard to explain what coaching is and how you can benefit, this post summarises the benefits of being coached.
Start a journaling practice.
Journaling is a written record of our thoughts & feelings, a way of figuring out what’s going on in our life (or in our business – more on this in a later post). It is recommended to journal every day, but I haven’t mastered that practice (yet!) and…
Tip 10 - Take the pressure off.
Today my 10-week series ends with a final tips to get you through these challenging times.
Tip 9 - Build a self-care plan.
This week’s post (the penultimate in my “Rise and Grow in Uncertain Times’ series) helps you build a wellness plan.
Not everyone is a fan of routine, and I am not suggesting that you join the ‘5am Club’, but in times of uncertainty, creating some structure from the things we can control can provide some stability and peace of mind.
Tip 8 - Practice gratitude.
I know it’s hard to be positive about our lives right now while in the middle of lockdown 2.0, and that it is easier to focus on the things we have lost or can’t do right now, but research suggests that counting our blessings is a good way to maintain our wellbeing.
This week’s “Rise and Grow in Uncertain Times’ post looks at ways to cultivate a sense of appreciation to reduce stress.
Tip 7 - Embrace the perfectly imperfect.
Is your best never good enough? Do you put a lot of pressure on yourself?
A lot of us are striving for perfection and putting the bar so high that it can drain the joy out of life and considerably increase our stress levels. So, is it time to say, ‘good enough is good enough’? – my motto for 2020 by the way as I am a ‘recovering perfectionist’.
This week’s “Rise and Grow in Uncertain Times’ post helps us give ourselves a break.
Tip 6 - Change your mindset.
Last week, we saw that learning to worry less could positively impact our stress levels, but another way to address our stress is to change the way we think about it.
This week in the “Rise and Grow in Uncertain Times’ series we think of ways to help change our mindset.
Tip 5 -Take back control.
For a lot of us, addressing our stress means learning to worry less. When we worry, we go round and round thinking about our worry, often believing that the problem is even more worrying which leads to … more worries...
This week in the “Rise and Grow in Uncertain Times’ series we learn how to break that vicious circle.
Tip 4 - Release weight off your bridge.
Stress is a condition occurring when the demands exceed the resources we are able to mobilise.
To continue with my “Rise and Grow in Uncertain Times’ series of tips, I thought I would share with you the bridge analogy, which helps us understand better why we feel stressed and overwhelmed in particular right now.
Tip 3 - Avoid stress contagion.
With a global pandemic, racial injustice, political unrest and climate change concerns, we are surrounded by uncertainty and we don’t know what life will look like in 6 months or in a year or two. But it’s down to each of us, it is our responsibility to find the resilience to take this in and move forward.
And we must all realise that stress management and self-care are no longer a luxury – they have become a necessity.
