Tip 8 - Practice gratitude.

I know it’s hard to be positive about our lives right now while in the middle of lockdown 2.0, and that it is easier to focus on the things we have lost or can’t do right now, but research suggests that counting our blessings is a good way to maintain our wellbeing.

This week’s “Rise and Grow in Uncertain Times’ post looks at ways to cultivate a sense of appreciation to reduce stress.

Tip 8 – Practice gratitude

Of course, gratitude isn’t a cure-all and I am not suggesting you force yourself to be positive all the time as some problems need indeed to be tackled, but regular gratitude practice is an excellent form of selfcare.

Keeping a gratitude journal:
Last thing in the evening or when you wake up, write down one thing you are grateful for in your life. Write in detail why you are grateful.

Can you rise to the challenge and practice this for five days and avoid repeating the same entry twice? What about a month?

You will notice that the practice will gradually change your entire outlook on life as becoming grateful becomes a conscious decision – give it a try!
