For a lot of us, addressing our stress means learning to worry less. When we worry, we go round and round thinking about our worry, often believing that the problem is even more worrying which leads to … more worries...

This week in the “Rise and Grow in Uncertain Times’ series we learn how to break that vicious circle.

Tip 5 – Take back control

Make a conscious decision to focus your precious time and energy in the right places, where what you do can have an impact. If you cannot control or even influence something that is worrying you, choose to write it off and let go of it.

1. Set aside a time and place to think about your worries
2. Outside of that time and place, make a conscious decision to postpone and refocus
3. Use ‘worry time’ to write down your worries and find solutions for the problems worrying you
