What brings you joy?

For years, as a scientist, I did not consider myself to be the creative type. I have a logical and rational mind, so how could I?! I thought creativity required some qualities I did not have...

I would dabble into a bit of DIY but I left the artsy stuff to others more qualified ones (or so I thought).

Until I started managing the renovation of my house and up-cycling furniture.

Finding a piece to work on, deciding on the colour you are going to pain it with, even what new use that particular piece of furniture can be put to...

Moving things around in a room (in your head!), creating a new kitchen layout, choosing a style and playing with colours and materials.

All this requires that you let your imagination flow freely with no restrictions.

I love that I can completely transform a room or start with a piece of furniture and create something totally new and unique out of it. It’s not perfect - something I am also working on - but it’s the fruit of my vision, time and efforts and a source of pride (well most of the time! LOL).

It’s also great for my self-care and helps me relax, and this is usually during these times that I get my best business ideas!

What are you passionate about?

What brings you joy or allows you to relax and get out of your head for a few hours?

If these questions leave you puzzled or slightly panicked, reach out to discuss further.
